I hope you've all read over the first chapter of your textbook very well because tonight you'll have your first quiz. You may use your text to answer the questions, so please, take your time. There's no reason to get a wrong answer!
You'll find the link to your quiz at the upper right-hand-corner of the page. Right-click the link and download that file to your desktop. Miss Chipps will be able to help you with that. Once downloaded, double-click the quiz file and it will open in TextEdit. Use TextEdit to fill in the answers on the digital file and when finished, use the SAVE AS file command in your file menu. When you use SAVE AS, it will give you the option to re-name the file. Simply add your last name to the BEGINNING of the file, add an underscore behind your name, save it to the desktop, then email it to me.
For example, my quiz would be named: wells_ch1_quiz.rtf
Again, ask Miss Chipps if you have any questions about how to do this properly.
Once you have completed your quiz (its due tonight, before you leave class!) it's time to put your newly-acquired Illustrator skills to the test. I want you to do a google image search for a famous painting. Find one you like, then download it to your desktop. Place that image inside a new Adobe Illustrator document. Here's a hint, if you put that image on it's own layer and lock it, it won't give you any trouble later! Ask Miss Chipps how to make a new layer. On a NEW LAYER, create a dynamic composition of your chosen piece of art the same way you did for your exercise last Wednesday. Make sure your dynamic composition looks enough like your original painting that I'll be able to tell what it is!
Once you're finished with your dynamic composition, use FILE >> SAVE AS and save your illustrator document as an adobe PDF. Use the naming structure: lastname_ch1_dynamic.pdf. Email me your file no later than Tuesday, September 11th at midnight.
Comment on this post with: your name, the name of the painting your chose and it's artist!
